We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sales and Business Development Representative - PreSales to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, and driving the growth of our customer base. You will work closely with the sales team to qualify leads, nurture relationships, and contribute to the overall sales pipeline. Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation and Prospecting:

Identify and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and social media. Research and target potential clients in alignment with the company’s ideal customer profile.

  • Lead Qualification:

Qualify inbound/outbound leads based on specific criteria, assessing their needs, budget, and potential fit with the company's products or services. Schedule meetings, demos, or consultations for the sales team with qualified leads.

  • Relationship Building:

Establish and nurture strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their pain points and business challenges. Maintain regular follow-up communication to keep prospects engaged.

  • Collaboration with Sales and Marketing Teams:

Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and to strategize on closing deals. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted campaigns, and provide feedback on lead quality and campaign effectiveness.

  • Sales Pipeline Management:

Track and manage leads in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring all interactions are recorded and up to-date. Monitor and report on the status of leads, sales pipeline progress, and key metrics.

  • Market Research and Analysis:

Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for business growth. Provide insights and recommendations based on research to support the sales and business development strategy.

  • Achieving Sales Targets:

Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales and business development targets. Continuously improve sales techniques and strategies to achieve better results.

  • Reporting and Feedback:

Prepare regular reports on lead generation activities, pipeline status, and sales performance. Provide feedback to management on market trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities for product or service enhancements.

  • Attending Industry Events:

Attending Industry Events: Participate in industry events, trade shows, webinars, and networking events to promote the company and generate new leads. This includes preparing for these events by filtering potential attendees, booking meetings with key prospects, and coordinating with the rest of the sales team to ensure targeted engagement.

  • Continuous Learning:

Stay updated on industry trends, company products, and competitors’ offerings to effectively communicate value propositions to prospects.Engage in ongoing training and development to refine sales skills and product knowledge.


Requirements

  • Have at least 3 years' prior industry related business development and/or sales experience
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in the I.T/Business Management field would be preferred, but not required.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, which demonstrate techniques in persuasion, selling, negotiation, conflict resolution and customer service.
  • Have strong analytical, time management, problem solving, prioritization and planning skills.
  • Have proven time management and organizational skills and ability to be self-directed
  • Can be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that is continually changing.
  • Have experience and proven track record of closing opportunities
  • Are driven to take initiatives, with a sense of urgency to achieve results with and through people
  • Are patient, curious, detail oriented and eager to solve problems
  • Possess the ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Can travel outside Tanzania to attend conferences on behalf of the company
